WASTE and RECYCLING

We have a skip on the car park for general waste. Please read the notice next to it as to items that are not allowed in the skip.

As a site we do not take responsibility for your recycling. We would encourage all groups to take as much recyclable waste with them and to recycle it at a suitable site. We are unable to operate recycling on site due to the high running costs of such a scheme.

If groups bring any form of materials onsite to build structures, it is the groups responsibility to dismantle them and remove them from site when they leave. These materials are not considered to be general waste and if placed in our skip, the campsite reserves the right to charge a fee of £100 towards the cost of emptying the skip.

If a groups tent breaks whilst onsite they must take it away to be disposed of. Tents are not considered to be general waste and if placed in our skip, the campsite reserves the right to charge a fee of £100 towards the cost of emptying the skip.

Legally Restricted Waste - due to European Waste Regulations we are not able to take any of the following items in our skip:

  1. Gas cylinders/LPG aerosols

  2. Solvents

  3. Acids (e.g. battery fluid, de-scaler etc)

  4. Alkalines (e.g. oven cleaners, drain cleaner etc)

  5. Flourescent tubes, lamps and other items containing mercury

  6. Electrical appliances

  7. Paints, inks, adhesives and resins containing dangerous substances

  8. Batteries and accumulators (lead/acid, Ni/Cad or mercury)

  9. Wood containing dangerous substances

This list is not exhaustive but covers most items likely to be on the campsite.
