CAMPING
We have over 20 camping pitches available, varying in size to cater for small patrol camps, up to large district camps. The majority of sites have a camp fire base or if not we have plenty of altar fires available. Sites are named after the wildlife you can see in the woods and are maintained by our volunteer team so they always look their best.
We have a few sites that are well suited to a back-to-basics style camp with plenty of hammocking areas.
And for larger camps there are a couple of open areas to set up larger, external activities such as inflatables.
CABIN ACCOMODATION
The Harry Walker Cabin sleeps 10 in two bunk rooms. It has a large hall for activities and a catering style kitchen. This cabin can be hired along with the Alan Gutteridge cabin. There is a connecting door if you wish to hire both.
The Alan Gutteridge Cabin sleeps 30 in 4 bunk rooms. It has a good size hall for activities and a catering style kitchen. This cabin can be hired along with the Harry Walker cabin. There is a connecting door if you wish to hire both.
The Collier Hut sleeps 14 with 12 bunks in the main room and 2 bunks in a separate room. It has a catering style kitchen and an open fireplace.
Catering equipment hire for cabin users. We have a selection of catering equipment for use in the cabins comprising of pots, pans, knives, chopping boards, utensils, plates, bowls, mugs, tumblers and cutlery. These are subject to a hiring fee and a deposit. The deposits are to be paid in cash to the Duty Warden.
All catering equipment must be clean, dry and ready to hand back by 1400 on day of departure.
The Dick and Phil Cabin makes a great base for camps and events. There are no bunks in this cabin. It has a kitchen for group catering.
SLEEPING SHELTERS
The Sleeping Shelters were built in 2012 and are a very popular addition to the site. Well used by all groups, especially Duke of Edinburgh groups who use it as a base to sleep before heading out early the following morning. There are 2 permanent altar fires and space for additional camping on the pitch.
