WOOD PILE and FIRES

Do not light ground fires on the grass, ground fires are only permitted on a fire slab.

Altar fires are to be used on all sites with no fire slab.

Do not empty altar fires on to the site, there is an ash pit next to the wood pile for emptying altar fires into. Do ensure the ash is cold before emptying.

Do Not leave fires burning unattended.

We have altar fires and grids available near the wood pile, please return them after use.

Tent stoves/fires are not permitted even in tents designed to take a stove and flue.

We have a well stocked wood pile in the middle of the campsite, opposite the toilet block, for all groups to use.

Please be aware of the possibility of nails, screws and metal in the woodpile. We recommend the wearing of good quality boots while using the woodpile and supervision by an adult. You are requested to return ALL unused timber to the woodpile.

No timber containing any form of glue, resin, paint or other man-made substance may be burnt on this campsite. This includes hardboard, chipboard, plywood, mdf, laminates and any other similar types of timber. If in any doubt DO NOT burn it.
Breach of the above information is an offence under Environment Agency rules and may lead to YOU being prosecuted.
